Colombo (News1st): Speaking to a group of party members at the JVP office in Kalutara today (December 17), MP Nalinda Jayatissa stated that Ranil, Sagala and the clan protected the thieves (of the previous administration) and even appointed Arjuna Mahendran to rob the Central Bank during the first 50 days since the 8th January 2015 victory. He added that after robbing the biggest bank in the country, Ranil Wickremesinghe lost the ethical right to crack down on the thieves of the previous regime, and that's exactly how the Rajapaksa's were able to save themselves from the cases against them. "The main person who's accused of betraying the public mandate is Ranil Wickremesinghe, so when he assumes duties again as the Prime Minister, Ranil Wickremesinghe should at least form the two special high courts before the 1st of January," said MP Jayatissa. He noted that Ranil Wickremesinghe can say that he worked according to the public mandate only if the courts take up cases on a daily basis and the FCID, CID and the Attorney General's Department is strengthened. MP Jayatissa noted that they have put forward the 20th amendment to the constitution and with the approval of 150 MPs, the amendment would abolish the autocratic ruling of the executive presidency which does not suit the country. He added that during the next 6 months, they will give the opportunity to the people of this country to hold an election and as the JVP they are ready to bring the proposal to dissolve Parliament and conduct a general election.
