02 dead following fatal assault in Ratnapura

Colombo (News 1st) - 2 people died in a fatal assault that took place in the Thippanawa area in Ratnapura last night. According to the police, 3 people suffered injuries in the assault which took place between 9-10pm. The injured victims were admitted to the Ratnapura Hospital. 2 of the victims died while receiving treatment, while the other continues to receive treatment at the hospital. The victims have been identified as 35 and 34-year-old residents of Goraka Ela, Dodampe The remains of the deceased are kept in the Rathnapura general hospital. The police said that investigations are being carried out under the supervision of the DIG in charge of Ratnapura division to arrest those responsible.
