Colombo (News1st): Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Nimal Siripala De Silva said legal action will be taken against the contractors who fail to complete constructions of the new aircraft parking stands and passenger terminals at the BIA.

With the construction of the new aircraft, parking stands at the BIA the number of planes that can be accommodated at any given time will increase from 24 to 49. This is expected to ease congestion during taxi and arrival.

The project funded by JICA will cost Rs. 6 Billion.
