2891 police officers promoted

Colombo (News1st): 2891 Police Officers have been given promotions. Police Media Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekera said the promotions were given following interviews carried out over the recent weeks. 1783 Police Constables have been promoted to the rank of Police Sergeant while 334 Female Constables have been promoted to the rank of Sergeant. 553 Police Sergeants have been promoted to the rank of Sub Inspector of Police, this also included 76 female sergeants. 124 Officers have been promoted from Police Constable Driver to Police Sergeant Driver.
