Case against Gotabaya Rajapaksa postponed

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The case filed against Former Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa and six others over the misappropriation of Rs. 39 million in public funds for the construction of D.A. Rajapaksa Memorial was postponed to the 04th of December. The case was taken up at the Permanent High Court Trial at Bar today (November 27). The Court issued an order today to several Public and Private Banks as well as the Head of Legal at the Sri Lanka Land Reclamation & Development Corporation to submit all documentation requested by the prosecution on or before the 30th of November. Deputy Solicitor General Dileepa Peiris appearing for the Attorney General noted copies of 80% of the documentation related to the case have been given to the defence.
