Colombo (News 1st) – The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna convened a media briefing today.

The Propaganda Secretary of the JVP Vijitha Herath stated that the government has failed and they have proved that they do not have the majority in Parliament. He stated that there were only 87 MPs present in Parliament today.

He notes that even on the 14th and the 16th they approved the no-confidence motion in the right manner and that it was done according to the standing orders.

MP Sunil Handunnetti stated that if the President has some self-respect, and if he still wants the people of this country to recognize him as the President, he will have to take a step back. He should admit his mistake and take steps to rectify it.
