Expired Fertilizer Stock Seized In Kaduwela Raid

COLOMBO (News 1st): A consignment of expired fertilizer stored inside a lorry in Bomiriya, Kaduwela has been seized.

The expired fertilizer was seized during a joint raid conducted by the Consumer Affairs Authority and the Police Special Task Force.

The Consumer Affairs Authority stated that 376 kilograms of expired solid fertilizer and 1,170 litres of expired liquid fertilizer were seized during the operation.

The Authority said further legal action will be taken. 

The Consumer Affairs Authority has requested consumers and farmers to report businesses that are misleading people by contacting the hotline 1977.
