COLOMBO (News 1st) - Deputy Speaker of Parliament Ananda Kumarasiri stated that they are mulling charging the damages to the parliamentary property from MPs responsible for such acts. He continued to say that the Engineering division of the parliament is currently evaluating the cost of the damages. Meanwhile, the deputy speaker said that Speaker Karu Jayasuriya will begin an investigation into MPs who had acted in an unruly manner in the chamber by using CCTV footage. The investigation will commence once the ongoing political crisis has been resolved. Further, he noted that legal actions will be taken against the MPs convicted of damaging property.
