Man Killed And Children Injured In Colombo Shooting

COLOMBO (News 1st): Police say the fatal shooting of a man in Jinthupitiya, Colombo, last night, resulted from a dispute between two rival underworld groups.

Three police teams have launched investigations to apprehend the suspects involved.

The incident occurred at around 10 p.m. yesterday, claiming the life of 44-year-old Liyanagoda Arachchige Jesu Naser, a resident of Colombo 13.

His four-year-old son and his sister’s three-year-old daughter were also injured in the shooting and are currently receiving treatment at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children in Colombo.

Police reported that the attack was carried out by two individuals who arrived in a three-wheeler. One of the assailants had disguised himself as a Muslim woman.

Police added that the shooting was carried out using a revolver.
