Investigation into the knife brought into parliament

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Police have launched an investigation into the reported incident where an MP brought a knife into the chamber. A senior police officer in charge of parliamentary security said that investigations are being carried out using the security cameras installed within the parliament. Several police teams have been deployed to conduct the investigation. The police said that complaints had been received on two MPs carrying knives during the tense situation which had erupted in Parliament yesterday (November 15). MPs are prohibited to carry either firearms or weapons inside the parliament.
