COLOMBO (News 1st) – Train operations from Madawachchiya to Thalaimannar will resume from today (November 01).

The Department of Railways is set to conduct a test run today on the track and thereafter commence operations from this evening.

Train operations on the tracks were suspended from August for urgent repairs on three bridges. During this period, a train was set to operate between Colombo Fort and Thalaimannar with four trips a day back and forth.

A special SLTB Bus service was in place for commuters who travel from Medawachchiya to Thalaimannar.
