Doctor imprisoned under sexual harrassment charges

Colombo (News 1st) - A specialist doctor at the Kalubovila hospital who pleaded guilty to the charge of sexual harrassment was sentenced to two years rigorous imprisonment suspended for 25 years. Indictments was filed against the doctor for sexual harassment of a female patient under the guise of examining her. The suspect was fined a sum of Rs. 25,000 by Colombo High Court Judge Champa Janaki Perera and was also ordered to pay compensation of Rs. 200,000 to the victim.
