Colombo (News1st): Many residents in Colombo and other surrounding areas are affected by the adverse weather. A Gammadda team along with the members of the Department of Town & County Planning of the University of Moratuwa set off today (October 10) as well to look for those affected.
The team arrived at the Samudhradevi hall under the purview of Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte Municipal Council to visit the people who were temporarily seeking shelter.
Residents of Punchi Panchikaawatta located beside the Heen Ela, close to the Kotiyagoda bridge in Buthgamuwa road are seeking temporary shelter at the location. Over 200 people of 40 families are currently housed in the Samudhradevi hall.
These residents complain that for year authorities have made promises but have failed to fulfil them,
