COLOMBO (News 1st) – The Department of Meteorology states that the depression that was developing in the Bay of Bengal has now concentrated into a deep depression. The depression is located 950km away from Trincomalee.

Due to this, the prevailing showery condition is expected to enhance over the island today and tomorrow.

The Disaster Management Centre claims that 48,918 people across the island have been affected due to the adverse weather.
