COLOMBO (News 1st) - Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne ordered DIG Nalaka De Silva, who was in charge of the Terrorism Investigation Division, and the Director (Operations) of the Anti-Corruption Force Namal Kumara to appear before courts on the 08th of October. Namal Kumara recently made a revelation of an alleged plot to assassinate President Maithripala Sirisena, Former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa and ASP Prasanna Alwis. Deputy Solicitor General Dileela Peiris speaking in court noted that the CID is investigating the complex matter and stressed if DIG Nalaka De Silva or Namal Kumara travel overseas it would be an obstruction to the investigation. The CID was ordered to hand-over the two light machine guns recovered from the TID to the Government Analyst and call for a report. The AGs Department said the TID had obtained the weapons on the 04th of September from the Police Armoury and that they were issued to two TID Officers upon instructions received by DIG Nalaka De Silva.
