COLOMBO (News 1st): The Sri Lankan Tuskers had a disappointing outing in the 2nd leg of the Asia 7s rugby series held in South Korea. The Tuskers lost the Plate final against the Philippines in a hard fought 17-19. Tuskers were leading at lemons with 12-7 on the board. However, they failed to hold their momentum as the Philippines found their line thrice in the second half. In their previous round in Hong Kong, Sri Lanka finished 3rd, but failed to secure their position and fell to 6th this time around. For the first time 5 years, the Tuskers have failed to finish in the top 5 at the Asian Series. The Tuskers are set to take the field at home for the 3rd leg of the series, which will be played at the Colombo Race-course. Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka women's rugby team clinched the Plate Championship. The Lankan lasses scored 22 points against a strong Thailand team who only managed to put 5 points on the board.
