Colombo (News 1st) – Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa convening a media briefing today (September 26) expressed his views on a tweet sent out by Minister of Finance and Mass media Mangala Samaraweera.

The Archbishop of Colombo, Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith stated that “human rights has become the religion among the western nations.” To which MP Mangala Samaraweera responded by saung that “the Cardinal always seems to get things wrong in trying to be a populist.”
Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa expressing his view on this tweet stated that MP Mangala Samaraweera had expressed the views of the current administration and that if this is not the case, the Prime Minister should make a statement to the nation clarifying the Government stance.
