Mother and two daughters killed in accident

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A mother and two daughters were killed in an accident in Akkaraipattu, Pottuvil last night (September 24). The accident took place at around 7 pm last night (September 24) near a bridge in the vicinity. Police said the accident had occurred when a car had knocked a woman crossing the road with her three children. The victims had succumbed to their injuries following admission to the Pottuvil hospital. The deceased aged 34, 12 and 6 years of age have been identified as residents of Pottuvil. The injured had been transferred to the Batticaloa hospital and a person was arrested.
