UDA to launch investigation into Blumenthal fire

Colombo (News1st) - The Urban Development Authority (UDA) is planning on carrying out an inquiry to ascertain the cause of Tuesday's (Sept 4) fire at the Blumenthal garbage dump. Chairman of the UDA Jagath Munasinghe noted that an investigation team comprising of officers from the NBRO, Sri Lanka Army and the Police will be deployed for this purpose. As garbage is not being dumped at the site at present, plans are being drawn by the customs to utilize the land. The fire which erupted yesterday has been doused completely.
