Import-Export controller who accepted a bribe, further remanded

Colombo (News1st) - Mahagamage Gamini, a controller attached to the Department of Import and Export control, who was taken into custody for allegedly accepting a bribe of 200,000 rupees from a businessman was further remanded until the 18th of this month. The Bribery Commission informed Colombo Chief Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake today (Sept 4th) that the investigation into the incident has not been completed. The suspect was taken into custody in Thalawathugoda when he was accepting a bribe of 200,000 to release 2 Japanese manufactured vehicles which were more than 10 years old.
