330 volunteer committees to monitor child abuse

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The National Child Protection Authority (NCPA) has decided to establish 330 volunteer committees at the divisional level to look into child abuse. The Director of the NCPA, Anoma Siriwardene noted that the committees will be established to cover all districts. The activities of the committees will be looked into by the officers attached to the NCPA at the Divisional Secretariats. The Director further noted that the first committee will be set up in the Kurunegala district on the 28th of this month.
