COLOMBO (News 1st) – The supply of water to several areas in Kaluthara has been disrupted. The water supply was disrupted after a tree fell on an electricity line leading to the Kalutara Water purification plant.
A spokesperson for the National water supply and drainage board said that the supply of power to the water purification plant has been cut off adding that a team has been deployed to restore power supply. He noted that they would ba able to provide water once again a few hours after the power outage is rectified.
Residents of Wadduwa, Kaluthara North, Kaluthara South, Payagala, Maggona, and Beruwala have been affected by the water cut.
