COLOMBO (News 1st) - Addressing the launch of the programme to plant 100,000 ayurvedic plants today (August 09) President Maithripala Sirisena commented on the railway strike action. He stated that the railway strike had been launched when children who had sat for the examination were about to return home. The president also continued to say that these people who went on strike are parents of children and questioned if they do not feel for these children. "May it be the doctors or anyone who constantly launches strike actions, if they think it hurts the government, it is a complete myth. Strike actions do not hurt the government, it is the poor and innocent people who get hurt the most" added the President.
