REUTERS - Two migrant fathers were presented at a news conference Wednesday (July 11) in Texas, a day after they were reunited with the children. The event was organised at Annunciation House in El Paso. The United States and Mexico has been vowing to work with Central American nations to reunite migrant families separated at the U.S. border "as quickly as possible" as the Trump administration faced fresh criticism over the practice. The migrant fathers maintained they sought to enter the country legally, but their children were taken away. Officials are concerned over the legal implications. More than 2,300 children were separated from their parents after U.S. President Donald Trump's government began a "zero tolerance" policy in early May, seeking to prosecute all adults who crossed the U.S.-Mexico border illegally. Trump stopped separating children from their parents last month following public outrage and court challenges.
