Five former Cricketers decline Ministers request to join SLC as Consultants

COLOMBO (News 1^st) - All five former Cricketers to whom the Minister of Sports extended an invitation to join the SLC as Consultants have declined his request. Former Sri Lankan Cricketer Aravinda De Silva speaking exclusively to News 1^st stated that since the year 2004 as cricketers they gave ideas through committees that were appointed to gather the views of cricketers. According to him, the cricketers refused as their ideas have not been implemented and they need a "corporate level" cricket board that can implement these ideas and create a proper structure. He added that the Minister must think and decided if this will be done or not.
