Colombo (News1st) - Officers of the Immigration and Emigration Association of Sri Lanka have launched a Work to Rule strike action, from midnight, citing several demands including the failure to approve the service minutes. Chairman of the Association, Aruna Kanugala said the Work to Rule campaign was launched as authorities failed to provide solutions, to their demands following a silent protest that was carried out yesterday. Issuing a communique, Sri Lanka Airlines on Thursday (May 17th) informed all passengers to arrive at the airport, three hours prior to departure time. Sri Lankan Airlines has requested passengers to follow this instruction until further notice, to minimize delays that may arise due to the trade union action carried out by the Sri Lanka Immigration and Emigration Officer’s Association.
