Polgampola appointed as new Chairman of State Timber Corporation

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Anuruddha Polgampola has been appointed as the new Chairman of the State Timber Corporation. He received his letter of appointment from President Maithripala Sirisena at the president's official residence. Polgampola's appointment comes after P. Dissanayake, the former chairman was arrested for soliciting a bribe of Rs. 20 million. P. Dissanayake and Dr. I. K. Mahanama - the President's Chief of Staff, who were involved in the incident are currently in remand custody until the 9th of May.
