COLOMBO (News 1st) – The 54th Semata Sevana model village was declared open today (April 2).

The new village comprises of 25 houses and was named Navathissamaru Gama has been built in Palugaswewa, Kekirawa.

The name was chosen to mark the 39th anniversary of the National Housing Development Authority which falls today (April 1).

In parallel to the opening, ceremony aid was presented to kidney patients and equipment was distributed among the self-employed.

Deputy leader of the UNP, Minister Sajith Premadasa expressed his views on the current situation of the country.
