Surgery performed on unborn baby

COLOMBO (News 1st) -A breakthrough surgery was performed at Peradeniya Teaching Hospital today (30th March) on an unborn baby. Surgeons performed a Teratoma surgery on an unborn baby for four hours to remove a clot. Hospital sources claimed, surgeons including specialist doctors from Peradeniya Hospital and Sirimavo Bandaranaike Hospital in Kandy performed the surgery successfully. Doctors confirmed that in order to reduce the risk to the baby's life, they performed the operation during pregnancy.
