COLOMBO (News 1st) - The final report of Sri Lanka's review under the third cycle of the Universal Periodic Review process was adopted during the 37th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council held in Geneva yesterday (March 20).
The presentation of the report and oral briefings of the Secretary-General and High Commissioner for Human Rights will take place this afternoon followed by a general debate.
The Sri Lankan delegation includes Foreign Minister Tilak Marapona, Special Assignments Minister Dr. Sarath Amunugama and the Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government Faiszer Mustapha.
The delegation includes officials of the Foreign Ministry, the Attorney General's Department and the Co-ordinating Secretariat for Reconciliation Mechanisms.
The Director of International Affairs of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress A.M. Faiz has also left for Geneva.
