It has been nine years since the assassination of senior journalist Lasantha Wickrematunge. However, those responsible for his killing are yet to be brought before the law.
Two former police officers are currently remanded for several reasons, including concealing vital evidence in the Wickrematunge assassination inquiry.
Last week, a senior police officer provided a statement to the Mount Lavinia Magistrate.
Vital information has come to light over Wickrematunge's missing notebook, which was in his car at the time he was killed, and several missing pages from the notebook.
A statement made by former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa over the Lasantha Wickrematunge assassination is making its rounds on social media.
Former Defence Secretary, Gotabhaya Rajapaksa states that Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe made a statement in Parliament claiming Lasantha's murder was done by Sarath Fonseka.
“I will have to agree with that 5000%,” said Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
