Ferrari reveal their Formula One car for the 2018 season

Ferrari's new SF71H Formula One car already looks a big step up from last year's (2017) before it has turned a wheel in anger, four times world champion Sebastian Vettel said yesterday (February 22) unveiling. The sport's oldest and most successful team are hoping the car, with more red and less white in the livery following the departure of sponsor Santander, will take them to a first championship in a decade. Like all the other Formula One cars this season the Ferrari features the Halo protection device. A thick metal cage to defend the driver from errant wheels or cars during a race. Driver Kimi Raikkonen states that he thought most drivers would get used to the device very quickly and cease to notice it. Vettel won five races last season but finished runner-up to Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton, who is now also a four times world champion.
