Will the Prime Minister step down?

BBC Sinhala News Service reports that according to a member of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, President Maithripala Sirisena has confirmed the decision of the SLFP members that Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe should resign from his position. The said member has also told BBC, that the Head of State has informed the United National Party to appoint a member from the party as the new Prime Minister. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister has taken up the position that changes to his party would not be done according to the whims of the SLFP but must come intrinsically from the UNP.
