People across the world face many issues and undergo various forms of bitter experiences. At a time when some are enjoying luxuries in full-equipped mansions, there are many who lost everything and are forced out of their homes. This bridge is located in Katugastota along the Jaffna - Colombo A9 road. Thousands move back and forth over this bridge on a daily basis, yet, there is an untold story under it. Fifty-one -ear old Abdul Raheem and his wife Sithy Kureishiya have been living under this bridge for many years, without even basic necessities for survival. Sithy Kureishiya is a mother of three. Abdul Raheem is forced to take to the streets and beg from passerby simply afford a meal for his family. He used to work at a coir mill, but an accident at work cost him his arm. Abdul Raheem expressed his feelings, "I have three children. They have neglected us. I have an elderly mother. I beg for money on the pavement simply to feed my mother, my wife and myself. We survive with the little we get from the poor people on the streets." Sithy Kureishiya states that no one is willing or there to help them. Furthermore. he stated that all her money and property were taken away. When it rains the place they sought shelter is immediately invaded by flood waters and this family is rendered helpless.

Their only hope is for a house to live in without any trouble.
