The Bribery Commission has decided to set up a special unit for the protection of witnesses and plaintiffs of cases of bribery and corruption.

Director General of the Commission, President’s Counsel Sarath Jayamanna, said that plaintiffs and witnesses who arrive to provide evidence of bribery cases do not even have appropriate lodging in Colombo.

He added that thereby, steps will be taken to construct a safe lodge in Colombo for witnesses and plaintiffs of such cases. All services at the lodges will be provided free of charge.
