We are deeply saddened when we see public funds being misused. There are no words to describe it. All we can say is that those who waste national wealth must be struck by lightning – these are the sentiments expressed by a villager from Rathmabalagama in Thanamalwila.
These villagers were given a ray of hope for a better future today, Monday, October 17, with the opening of yet another project undertaken through the Gammadda 100-Day Initiative.
The people of Rathmabalagama received access to clean drinking water today with the opening of a new water scheme by the Gammadda initiative, with the support of the Sri Lanka Navy.
The Gammadda Saviya Organisation in Rathmabalagama was also established, tasked with maintaining the water scheme which will supply water for 650 families.
The tree-planting campaign organised to conserve the environment was also held in Rathmabalagama parallel to the opening of the water scheme.
