Minister S.B.Dissanayake addressed the first anniversary convention of the Divineguma Joint Professionals Association, stating that a Samurdhi computer assistant and labour appointments – an assistant or peon and a security officer, will be provided to all banks
“Every Samurdhi manager would be given a weapon”, said the minister who added that the weapon can be handed over to the security officer at night and retrieved again in the morning.
He added that the pawning activities must be taken over in the villages because when innocent villagers go to pawn their jewellery, they fail to make the payments and lose their hard earned money. He stated that this is because the interest is very steep, and there needs to be a just system in place for such pawning matter and it needs to commence from the banks.
