Several acres from Salawa Army Camp to be used for ‘reconstruction’

A decision has been made to provide five acres of land from the Army Camp in Salwa for the reconstruction of the Salawa town, following the destruction which was caused from the fire in June.

The decision was made at a meeting held at the Finance Ministry on Wednesday. Minister of Finance, Ravi Karunanayake, Minister Susil Premajayantha and Minister Anura Priyadarshana were present at the meeting.

Meanwhile, full compensation has been provided to those whose houses have incurred damages of over Rs.100,000 from the fire.
