Officials of the Wildlife Authority were able to treat an injured elephant who was knocked by a train in Giritale today.

Our correspondent stated that the elephant was knocked down by a train in the Jala- Gelumnimna National Reserve in Manampitiya.

The veterinary medical officers stated that the hind left leg of the elephant was injured.

The veterinary medical officers also noted that the elephant is currently in a critical condition.
