The establishment of a parliamentary budget office was raised in Parliament on Tuesday, August 23
TNA Parliamentarian, M.A. Sumanthiran stated that a parliamentary budget office will not be established before the budget, therefore they wont be able to carry out their responsibilities by the November.
Prime Minister, Ranil Wickremesinghe stated that they can sit down with Chairman of COPE and others, decide on the draft legislation, gazette it and pass it during the budget, so that by 2017 they can monitor the budget.
