Foundation stone laid for USD 23m lubricant manufacturing plant

The foundation stone for a 23 Million US Dollar lubricant manufacturing plant in Muthurajawela was placed on Thursday. Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia Dr. Ahmed Zahid Hamidi who arrived in the country earlier Thursday morning, attended the event.

The manufacturing plant is a joint venture of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation and Hyrax Oil , a Malaysian manufacturer of petroleum derivatives.

The event was graced by Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia Dr. Ahmed Zahid Hamidi and Minister of Petroleum and Petroleum Gas, Chandima Weerakkody.

The four million litres-per month lubricant blending plant is being constructed in Muthurajawela, Wattala.

A model of the complex was inspected by the Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia.
