Germany and Poland ended their game in goalless draw, managing to take a step forward towards qualifying from the group stage.

Both teams have four points, and will be guaranteed a place in the last 16 if they avoid defeat in their final Group C matches on Tuesday.

It was the Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik who had a brilliant chance but saw it go to waste seconds after restart, with a header wide from four yards when he seemed certain to score.

Mario Gotze and Mesut Ozil were both denied by Lukasz Fabianski (who came in for an injured Wojciech Szczesny)

The result means that pointless Ukraine are eliminated from the tournament.
