President Maithripala Sirisena handed over letters of appointment on Thursday, to eleven new electorate and district organisers of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.
North Western Provincial Councillor, Kamal Indika, has been appointed the new organiser of the Hiriyala electorate, a position previously held by Salinda Dissanayake.
Former chairman of the Bentota Pradeshiya Sabha Krishan Sirimanne and Former Chairman of the Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha Amila Harshana Kariyawasam were appointed as Co-organisers of the Bentara-Elpitiya Electorate, a position previously held by Geetha Kumarasinghe.
Among the new appointees is Pradeep Jayawardene, a grandson of former president late J.R. Jayawardene, who was appointed the organiser for the Gampaha District.
Former Western Provincial Councillors Gamini de Silva and Buddhika Iddamalgoda were appointed co-organisers for the Colombo District.
Manula Chamal Perera was appointed Organiser for the Kalutara District, Piyal Dharshana Guruge was appointed Organiser for the Galle District while Naleen Pushpa Kumara was appointed Organiser for the Kegalle District.
Thushara Thilekeratne was appointed Organiser for the Kurunegala District. Devika Koddithuwakku was appointed as organiser of the Kandy District.
Meanwhile, R.M.S.B Rathnayake received his appointment as organiser of the Nuwara Eliya district from the president on a prior occasion.
