General Secretary of the United People’s Freedom Alliance Minister Mahinda Amaraweera issued a warning on Monday, April 25.
General Secretary of UPFA, Mahinda Amaraweera stated that they made an attempt to involve everyone in the May Day Rally which is held by the SLFP in Galle.
Explaining further, he stated that it is best that everyone attends this rally to save their own identities as he had requested for 50 buses this time around. He stated however that as of yesterday 124 buses are required. This is not by handing out arrack, these are original SLFPers, said the minister.
Minister Mahinda Amaraweera expressed these views while addressing an event to welcome the new SLFP Organiser for Kotte, Janaka Ranawaka.
Chairman of Kotikawattha/Mulleriyawa, Prasanna Solangaarachchi stated that the young Janaka who did politics had nothing but a future, any item has its expiry date, he said.
Explaining further he added that everything has a rise and fall and the cause for this fall is because of those who went about the ‘Tharunyata Hetak’ nonsense.
Chief Minister of the Western Province, Isura Devapriya stated that if anyone is attending the rally in Kirulapone, it is to strengthen the victory of UNP on August 17, not the SLFP.
Kotte Chief Organiser of SLFP, Janaka Ranawaka stated that a surge in drugs has taken place during the past six months, along with the rise of underworld gangs.
Explaining further, he added that drugs will be wiped out from Kotte before the Poson Poya Day.
