President Maithripala Sirisena participated in a religious event on Thursday, December 24 to mark Unduvap Full Moon Poya Day.

President Sirisena visited the Sadahamsevana International Buddhist Information Institute in Rajagiriya early in the morning to take part in the Dhamma sermon delivered by the Head of the Sadahamsevana International Buddhist Information Institute, Venerable Athuraliye Rathana Thero.

Meanwhile, a national event was also organized under the auspices of President Sirisena to mark the birth of Prophet Muhammad in Kandy. Certificates were presented to the winners of the Nationa Milad competition.

President Sirisena stated that are aware of the various situation that arose in the country during the past eight to night decades the Sri Lankan community must be further strengthened to bring forth national unity.

President Sirisena toured several areas in Colombo to meet with the members of the public who are preparing to celebrate Christmas and the New Year. He also extended his best wishes for Christmas and the New Year.
