The GMOA and trade unions of bank employees have warned that they would go in for a continuous trade union action if their demands are not met with positively.
The Joint Committee on Executive Officers’ All Island Services which comprises of nineteen trade unions attached to the government services of medicine and administration, convened a media briefing to elaborate on their future course of action.
Dr. Nimal Karunasiri of the Joint Committee on Executive Officers’ All Island Services stated that out of the five letters they had sent – a single letter was not addressed by the President or Prime Minister .
Meanwhile, the Ceylon Bank Employees Union also convened a media briefing.
S.B Jayaratne, Chairman of the Ceylon Bank Employees’ Union, stated that one or two of the twelve matters presented were subjected to changes – such as the leasing facility which was given back to banks
He added that they will enter a trade union action if changes are not resolved by January 15, 2016
