Vehicular movement on the Colombo – Avissawella Low Level Road in the Bomiriya area in Kaduwela has come to a complete standstill due to the eruption of a pipeline. As the road has sunk in, Police has advised motorists to use alternative routes.
Thereby, motorists using the low level road from Colombo to Hanwella are advised to turn right from the Vele junction in Kaduwela and to proceed on the Kaduwela – Homagama road and turn left at the Wandurumulla Junction and to arrive onto the Colombo – Hanwella main road through Sumanatissa Mawatha.
When News1st contacted the General Manager of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board Ranjith Balasuriya, he stated that a pipeline which supplies water to Colombo from Kalatuwawa has erupted.
However, he said that the supply of water will not disrupted.
