President Maithripala Sirisena says that the government hopes to increase the country’s economic growth rate to 10 percent.
The president also requested the World Bank to render its support for the proposed projects in the country, when the World Bank Vice President for the South Asia Region, Annette Dixon called on the President on Friday.
President Sirisena had also requested assistance in obtaining new technology and equipment to prevent the flow of drugs and narcotics in to the country.
World Bank Vice President for the South Asia Region, Annette Dixon had noted that research had revealed that Sri Lanka is centre for agricultural products.
She added that the World Bank would support in uplifting the agricultural sector.
