The Colombo Chief Magistrate issued notice on Former Minister Mervyn Silva to appear before court over the disappearance of three persons. A complaint has been made by relatives citing that three persons were abducted in white vans from Modara in 2011.

The Criminal Investigations Department had carried out investigations and reported findings to court on Tuesday. The wife of a missing person said that her husband was abducted on October 18, 2011 in a white van, adding that they have not heard from him since then.

She also said that they filed a case and it has been going on for the past three years. She said that they believe justice is being meted out under this new Government.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya issued notice on former Minister Mervyn Silva to appear before court on November 11.
