The dawning of the decision day for the people and the candidates hoping to get elected to the legislature is nearing.  Sri Lankans will head to the polls at 7 a.m. tomorrow, Monday, August 17.

Speaking on the Satana political programme telecast on Sirasa TV last night, Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya urged voters to cast their ballots early.

Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya said that all preparations are made for the elections, adding that the public should use their power to vote fearlessly.

He also said:

Voters who are planning to cast their franchise in the evening, I suggest that you do so in the morning hours and avoid loitering in the vicinity of your polling station or any other area looking for trouble. Go back to your homes or workplace after voting.”

The Elections Commissioner also elaborated on the voting process.
